HBO’s Beware the Slenderman Documentary Gets Behind the Scenes Access to a Gruesome Crime.
HBO’s Beware the Slenderman Documentary is set to premiere on the 23rd of January from 10 pm to midnight (ET/PT).
The chilling piece documents the true crime story of two 12-year-old girls that lured their friend into the woods and stabbed her 19 times in an attempt to appease the fictional faceless tall man known as the Slenderman.
Beware the Slenderman Documentary will go in-depth and investigate the crime that shocked the world looking at how an urban legend could cause two impressionable children to commit such a gruesome act.
Oscar nominated Director Irene Taylor Brodsky (Hear and Now) will take audiences into the ongoing investigation and behind the scenes getting full access to the families, courtroom testimonies and police interrogation footage. The documentary will feature interviews from digital experts putting the Slenderman legend into context as well as psychologists giving insight into the girls’ mental states. The documentary ultimately looks at how the world of technology is affecting children growing up in today’s world and the consequences of social isolation and mental health issues.
HBO’s Beware the Slenderman is produced by Irene Taylor Brodsky and Sophie Harris, with Nick Midwig as Director of Photography and Gladys Mae Murphy as Editor. An original score was created for the project by Benoit Charest.
It will be available to stream on HBO Now, HBO GO and HBO on Demand.
