Broadchurch Season 3 Plot Details, Cast and New Teaser

Broadchurch season 3 has released its first teaser that confirms the show will air on 27th of February 2017 (update Feb 16th, itv announced via twitter). Originally airing on ITV, the 1st teaser strangely came by way of BBC America. The latest trailer has since been released and is available below.
Both David Tenant and Olivia Coleman will return for the final season as well as series regulars Jodie Whittaker and Andrew Buchan (Beth and Mark Latimer), Arthur Darvill (Vicar Paul Coates), Carolyn Pickles (Local paper editor Maggie Radcliffe) and Adam Wilson as Ellie’s son Tom.
New season 3 cast members include Julie Hesmondhalgh (Coronation Street) Georgina Campbell (One of Us) along with Sarah Parish (Trollied), Charlie Higson (The Fast Show) and Mark Bazeley (The Bourne Ultimatum) who will play significant roles in the eight-part series to be co-produced for ITV by Kudos, Imaginary Friends and Sister Pictures.
The season 2 finale of Broadchurch saw Joe Miller, the man accused of killing Danny, found not guilty at trial. In an interview with EW, the show’s creator Chris Chibnall confirmed that the show would begin a new chapter. “I think that’s the end of his story,” Chibnill said, “I wouldn’t expect to see him [Joe Miller] in a third season.”
The final season will follow Miller and Hardy as they investigate a serious sexual assault in the area. Creator Chris Chibnall commented “We have one last story to tell, featuring both familiar faces and new characters. “I hope it’s a compelling and emotional farewell to a world and show that means so much to me.”
Season 3 began filming in May of 2016 around the Bridport, West Bay and Clevedon areas. All locations have previously featured in season 1 & 2. Broadchurch last aired back in 2015.
