A Cure For Wellness Wide Release, Gets Revealing 2nd Trailer

Gore Verbinski’s new film A Cure for Wellness is an upcoming German American psychological horror written by Justin Haythe (The Lone Ranger) and directed and produced by Verbinski.

The film follows an ambitious young executive who is sent to retrieve his company’s CEO from an idyllic but mysterious “wellness centre” at a remote location in the Swiss Alps but soon suspects that the spa’s miraculous treatments are not what they seem (official synopsis by 20th Century Fox).

A Cure for Wellness will be Verbinski’s first directorial project since The Lone Ranger back in 2013. He will return to his horror roots first the first time since The Ring in 2002 with a MPAA R rating.

A second trailer was briefly available on youtube last week under the Spanish name “A Cura”, but was quickly taken down after copyright complaints from Fox. The trailer was officially released earlier today (December 20th) via the official 20th century Fox youtube channel (below).

The psychological horror/thriller that is visually reminiscent of Verbinski’s shelved Bioshock adaptation stars Dane DeHaan (The Amazing Spider-Man 2) as high powered executive Mr. Lockhart and Mia Goth (Everest) as Hannah. Additional cast includes Jason Isaacs (John Wick) as the wellness centre director, Adrian Schiller (Being Human) & Celia Imrie (Bridget Jones’s Baby).

A Cure for Wellness wide release comes on the 17th February 2017 (USA) and 24th of March (UK).
