Disgusted with himself and his life, Barry reluctantly travels to Los Angeles for a job but instead finds acceptance within a group of acting hopefuls in the L.A theatre scene.

Barry is the second new comedy picked up by HBO for 2017. Judd Apatow and Pete Holmes’ new comedy series ‘Crashing’ set in New York will also debut next year.

The show will begin shooting in Los Angeles sometime in 2017, the pilot episode of Barry will mark Bill Hader’s directorial debut.
